Fontys University of Applied Sciences

Fontys is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands and located in the most innovative region of the country. It is one of the most exciting places to be for anyone with an interest in technology, entrepreneurship, and creativity. The name of the university comes from the Latin word “fons”, which means “source”, thus the educational institution associates itself with an infinite source of knowledge for those who are interested in these subjects. Students of more than 100 nationalities study at one of the universities’ campuses. Fontys offers a wide variety of Bachelors, Masters, and Exchange programmes in English.

Established educational practises for sustainable job opportunities 

Fontys University offers a variety of student organisations that help students to participate in many youth activities, to socialise and make lifelong friendships.  Another advantage of the university is the connection of education with business. Together with about 10 students from different educational programmes, all business students at Fontys Venlo start their own company, which is officially registered in the Dutch CommercialChamber. For almost a year, students run their company by drawing up a business plan, selling shares of their companies, developing and selling a product/service, and preparing a tax report. During their trainings, all Fontys students do two internships that can be practised in the Netherlands or abroad.
